Hello All,

Peanut (Joseph) is doing very well.  To date he is one very active 2 year old!  He is loving, kind hearted, and strong-willed!  He is fantastically and gloriously made.  His health is outstanding!!!  Thank you ALL for all of the prayers, support, kind words, thoughts, and just plain good old fashioned listening ears.  You all truly do not know just how much it meant to have you in our corner every step of the way.  A kind word - sympathy - and just knowing that there are truly people that care and are willing to reach out in another person's time of need is such a blessing.  Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!!  INTRODUCING JOSEPH!!!!!!!!!!

Great news update - Joseph IS HOME! 10/4/12

HI ALL!!! We are so very blessed! Joseph came home on 22 July 2012 and has been zooming up the charts! He was released from the hospital at 7lbs and 4 oz and today he is a healthy 11lbs and 2oz! YAYAYAYYA! He is 21 and 5/8 inches long and progressing at a rate the doctors and I are happy with! Mr. Joseph has chronic lung disease (which will heal with time), and an “as needed" oxygen requirement, a positional left club foot (no bone malformation), and GER (Gastroesophageal reflux).  All of his conditions are being properly monitored and treated!

Joseph is a happy little boy and loves to be loved.  He and his brother get along very well and we are so proud of our little family.  I am blessed to be able to be a stay at home mom and take care of both of my boys.  I could not have prayed for and received better children!  If you have ny questions please feel free to ask.

Hugs, The Green Family.

UPDATE July 14, 2012

Hello everyone,

Joseph, Troy, and I have had one heck of a journey.  There have been plenty of ups, downs, tears, sadness, rolle-rcoaster emotions, joys, and emotions that I can not even put into words...all of it has lead to a blessed and tremendous life for us.   Joseph is a healthy, chubby cheeked little man and is weighing in at 7lbs and 2.65oz.  He is due to come home in approximately nine days (due date, 23 July 2012)!!!! Medically my little boo bear has over come!  He does have chronic lung disease which will resolve (heal and corrct itself as lung tissue developes with age).  He may or may not have asmatic issues....we will face that if it ever arises. His major organs, limbs, and overall health is great!

Joseph is off the ventilator!

6-1-12

Joseph is doing very well, he is truly my miracle baby! As of Tuesday (29 May 2012) he was 3lbs and 13oz....three more oz and he will be 4lbs! (YAYAYAYAYA). My little BIG man is getting chubby cheeks and filling out more and more each day!

He is now off the ventilator and on a vaporizor nasal cannula (oxygen only) HE IS BREATHING ON HIS VERY OWN! His lungs are showing signs of progression each day.  He has a ways to go and he is ready for the journey.

Once he make four pounds and has been stable on the nasal cannula for about a week the discussion of moving him to an open bed (out of the incubator) and bottle/breast feeding can be opened (YAYAYAYAYAY BABY!) I am one excited mommy!  CAN YOU TELL??????

Soon my second little boy will be home and I am so VERY thankful for all the support and prayers. If any of you readers know a family that is experiencing a high risk pregnancy and would like support/a listening ear/etc please share my story with her and give her my email, t.s.green04@gmail.com!!!!

Joseph is 3.38 lbs

UPDATE 5-23-12: Joseph is doing well. He was re intubated on 5-22 due to having high oxygen requirements and major desats and bradys. It also appears that he may have an infection. He has been started on a 7-10 day round of antibiotics-once the cultures are returned from the blood work and chest cultures a determination will be made on whether or not the antibiotic type should be changed. Once Joseph's lab work levels level back out he will be tested on the CPAP again. The doctors state that it is normal for the LOs to fail anywhere from two to three times when first going to the CPAP-just shows they are not quite ready to do so much breathing work on their own. Side note-To me the CPAP looked hella uncomfortable, more so than the lung tube :/ it swoll his little nostril area cause the prungs are so large in baby nostrils. Joseph is now 3.38 lbs. He is fighting hard and making major strides.

Joseph off the ET (vent/lung) tube and on the CPAP!

Update: 5-18-12: Joseph pulled out his ET tube (ventilator/lung tube)! He had been fightung with that sucker for almost two weeks! A decision was made to put him on the CPAP, instead of putting him back on the ET tube. So far so good in the CPAP. He is breathing all on his own with the assisted pressure of the CPAP to keep his little lungs open!! Joseph is up to 24cc feedings every three hours. He is eating over 8oz a day! OH YEAH! I am a proud mama!!!! He is adorable strong and the Lord blessed him to me. Everything I have went through in life - I am too blessed. The best gifts on my life are my kids!!!

Held Joseph for the 1st time! 5-13-12

5-13-12 I got to hold Joseph for the first time!!! Such a good feeling. I was made to be a mom. For me motherhood is the job of a lifetime! Today the last of Joseph's IVs were removed! HUGE step. He now weighs 2lbs and 12oz! His feedings are at 19CCs every 3 hrs. The amount increases daily(or as the docs see fit according to health and tolerance levels). His oxygen levels are variable and at a rate the doctors are able to work with and make adjustments. Joseph is a fighter! My baby was meant to be a part of this world. All the positive prayers, vibes, and thoughts are greatly appreciated.
